Cinnamon Network are launching a new initiative, supported by a Cinnamon microgrant.
Because of this partnership pathway, churches may be eligible to apply for a micro-grant of up to £2,000 to help launch a youth mentoring project. We provide training and support to help sustainability and impact. Churches can move from vision to action through a 12-month supported pathway that equips volunteers and develops a mentoring project that can change lives. At the end of the first year, if the church wishes to continue a level of support, we will agree a package that works.
Each participating church receives:
- Six bi-monthly one-to-one online support meeting vouchers (one hour each) for their Project Manager with Jonathan Welford, helping them design, launch, and grow a mentoring project suited to their context
- A coupon allowing five mentors to register for the full online mentoring course free of charge
- A project plan and budget spreadsheet template for use by the Project Manager
- Two workshops for mentors during the year (mentors from multiple churches attending)
- A Community Consultation Guide to help identify where young people will come from, if the focus is the local community. This guide is also relevant for other church projects, and the outcomes may be used as evidence of need when applying for additional funding
- Seven free resources for mentors to use
The cost is £70 per month for 12 months per church, designed to be manageable, which can cover our costs and contribute towards Project Manager salary and expenses. This pathway provides the structure and support for a well-run project; either within the church or reaching into the local community.
We will guide churches, including access to the application process where appropriate. You can register your interest, read more here, and also enquire at: https://www.nicodemustraining.org/build-your-mentoring-programme.
