In May we were delighted to recognise Alice with a Lundie Award for her compassion, generosity, and commitment to helping people experiencing homelessness!
Alice, together with her mum and two brothers, took part in a sponsored Sleep Out at West Bromwich Albion Football Club. The family spent the night sleeping outdoors at the stadium from 8:00 pm until 8:00 am to raise money and awareness for those who have no choice but to sleep rough. Equipped with sleeping bags, blankets, warm coats, hats and hand warmers, Alice experienced just one night of discomfort. Although she managed to sleep, she reflected on how difficult it must be for people who face these conditions every night. The experience gave her a greater appreciation of the challenges homeless people face and strengthened her desire to help others. Thanks to the generosity of family and friends, Alice and her family raised an impressive £280 for homeless charities. Their fundraising will help provide support and hope to people in need.
Alice has also shown her willingness to serve others in many ways within her church community. She has helped her minister with technology, washed up after services and willingly stepped in at short notice to take part in the church’s Christmas service.
Alice’s kindness, willingness to serve and desire to make a positive difference make her a wonderful example of Christian faith in action. We are delighted to present her with this month’s Lundie Award and thank her for the inspiring example she sets to others. Congratulations, Alice!
