Remembrance Service at St Andrew’s URC

Archway covered in poppies

,Members of St Andrew’s URC congregation had been extremely busy for several weeks knitting and crocheting poppies for their Remembrance Day commemoration service!

We have some very talented crafters at St. Andrew’s and the lady who runs our “Crafty Sew ‘n’ So’s Group.” Lynn Wilding, collected them all together and constructed the most beautiful Poppy Arch. It was very welcoming to people as they arrived at church. She also created a lovely window sill dressing!

They had a wonderful service yesterday morning, led by our Minister, Rev Alison Smith, and everyone commented on what a really lovely and meaningful service it was. Everyone also greatly appreciated the beautiful poppy creations and the amount of work that went into them!”

The Synod thinks it looks wonderful and it’s a very creative way to come together in fellowship for this memorial day!
