The URC’s recent LYCiG (Leading Your Church Into Growth) Conference was a sell out! With eleven delegates from the West Midlands Synod, it was an inspiring and informative event.
Trying to pack the material into such a short time may have been a challenge, but everyone came back with fresh ideas and enthusiasm.
As a result, your Mission Development Officers (Revs Sally and Andrew Willett) will be hosting bi-monthly zoom gatherings. This is for encouragement wherever you are on the LYCiG journey. This can be to help those aiming to introduce or implement LYCiG principles or navigate the use of LYCiG local course in their churches. Sally and Andrew will also be providing training for those interested in holding a Start Course.
In addition, Sally will begin a pilot project for those who may be interested in finding out about ACORN in the New Year. This is the new resource from Michael Harvey, who devised ‘Back to Church Sunday’. Acorn is aimed at helping people share the Good News of Jesus in a simple, unscary way. For this pilot project we would need four people to commit to meet on zoom for one hour a week, for four consecutive weeks.
