Festival of Church Music
The Free Church Choir Union – now known as ‘In harmony, Free Church Choirs’ – was founded in 1888 and met for its first festival at the Crystal Palace. It has continued to organise Church Music festivals since that date. The aim of Free Church Choirs is to ‘widen, enrich and deepen interest in Choral Music’. Information about the history and aims of the organisation can be found on the website https://www.freechurchchoirs.org.uk/about-us.html
Free Church Choirs holds a biennial Festival of Church Music usually in a cathedral or other large place of worship and an article about Free Church Choirs was included in a recent edition of Reform magazine. In 2025 the Festival will be held in Coventry Cathedral. The Festival brings together singers from all over the UK and is open to all who love singing.
The service is at Coventry Cathedral on Saturday 11 October at 6pm.
We warmly invite folk throughout the West Midland to join the congregation at this festival Service in Coventry Cathedral.
