It was lovely to be able to attend Hereford URC’s service to give thanks for 362 years of worship at Eignbrook URC (made up of Eignbrook Congregational and Eignbrook URC.) Thanks was also given for the 55 years of worship at Hampton Dene URC (made up of Hereford Presbyterian Church and Hampton Park URC.) These two churches have now joined together to become Hereford URC.
Rev Roger Woodall spoke on the history of the two churches, explaining how the call to begin one of the churches after fifteen people met at a café led to a well-established fellowship. Rev Ken Martin also spoke on the importance of the two churches joining together.
As part of the service we also sang a hymn in Hereford URC’s Memorial Garden of Remembrance. It was a lovely time together to celebrate the life of two congregations joining together to continue their fellowship.
